The Group
Eighteen year old Vicky Hughes and Twenty-one year old Tim Driesen had already been firm friends for several years when they decided to combine their many talents and form the new and exciting singing duo JUNCTION 9. Together, Vicky and Tim write and perform all of their own material and occasionally write new arrangements to existing songs.

The image JUNCTION 9 is at present projecting is Clean Cut American Boy/Girl next door
"The image we have gone for is the American boy/girl next door, Dawson's Creek style" - Vix
"We are good, clean-living kids" - Tim
"We dont do drugs" - Vicky
"And neither of us smoke" - Tim
"I dont even drink" - Vicky
"I do! But not too much, of course" - Tim
"We sound really boring, but thats the point were not!" - Vicky
The other angle the pair play on is: Are they an item? Are they in love? Some of their songs seem to suggest they are and the chemistry between the two when they are performing is quite electric. Howeveron this matter their lips are firmly sealed.
Vicky Hughes
Coming from a strong, theatrical family father a musician/MD/writer, mother director/writer and various other family members dotted throughout the profession- Vicky was, as they say, born in a trunk. (Almost quite literally as she arrived in the world just hours after her mother stepped off the stage!)
At just 6 weeks old Vicky was in the pit, bouncing along to the orchestra, whilst her father worked as MD and her mother as director of an international song festival. At 11 months she was on the set of an American film watching her mother work as a drama coach and at just 18 months old she appeared on stage as a perfectly rehearsed all singing, all dancing fairy in a US tour of Shakespeares A Midsummer Nights Dream.
And so it went on until at the age of 18yrs and with two full length comedy films completed and a TV series nearing completion, Vicky got together with her long time friend, Tim to form the duo JUNCTION 9.
Tim Driesen
Born in a trunk as well, albeit a different one to Vicky, Belgian born Tim started off his theatrical career when, at the tender age of 4, he played the part of Joseph in a nativity play, an act to be repeated practically every year, until a few years later, at the age of 12, he found out what REAL child stardom was like, when he played a lead role in a Belgian television series which could be compared to todays S Club 7, even reaching a top 10 spot in the Belgian charts! All of these led to playing the narrator in the Belgian cult musical Glory Hallelujah 2000 culminating in a Christmas Special on Belgian television.
Tim was soon bitten by the musical theatre bug and trained for three years at Laine Theatre Arts, previously home to Posh Spice, Lee from Steps and various other pop stars, musical theatre divas and film actors. After graduating, he got snatched up out of hundreds of hopefuls to play teenage heart throbs Donny Osmond and David Cassidy in the Bill Kenwright Production Thank You For The Music followed by a successful run of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, in which he played the title role, thus completing a career circle by playing another Joseph
Tim recently completed writing his first stage musical, Dorian (an adaptation of Oscar Wildes The Picture Of Dorian Gray) which had a Workshop Performance at the Actors Centre in London with a West End cast, before getting together with his long time friend Vicky to combine talents and form the duo JUNCTION 9.
